摘要:Accurately understanding the complex interactions multiple ecosystem services with each other and throughout a region is necessary to achieve sustainable ecosystem management. Currently, about 60% of global ecosystem services are being degraded, and this phenomenon is especially pernicious in the low-temperature, high-altitude regions of the Northern Hemisphere, like alpine ecosystems. In this study, the Daxinganling forest area in Inner Mongolia, which is both a sensitive, alpine ecosystem and an important ecological barrier in the north of China, was analyzed using multiple methods to evaluate the local and global relationships between four major ecosystem services (soil conservation, water yield, carbon storage, and habitat quality) from 2013 to 2018. Furthermore, ecosystem service clusters were identified at different scales. Results showed the following: (1) Most ecosystem service pairs experienced very significant synergistic relationships; however, the strength of most of these relationships decreased over time. Further, the strongest synergistic relationships were mainly concentrated in the center of the study area and decreased with time. (2) Trade-offs dominated (76.29%, 81.57%) the relationships between all four ecosystem services, but these relationships varied regionally and over time. While trade-offs between all four ecosystem services were widely distributed and increased over time, their strong synergistic relationships were concentrated in the center and southern parts of the study area and decreased over time. (3) The results of the analyses were not greatly impacted by the resolution of spatial analyses (1 km×1 km-scale or forestry management unit-scale), but a smaller scale did improve the ability to make specific recommendations.Additionally, changes at the forestry management unit-scale became more pronounced over time. In general, the relationship between ecosystem services became more competitive, and thus less stable and sustainable, over time. We suggest using our proposed ecosystem service cluster to optimize ecosystem service management, for example, by establishing cluster-specific ecosystem management objectives. ? 2024, The Authors.
