摘要:Chaenomeles spp. (quince) are important as medical and food plants in East Asia. Their fruit have a strong characteristic aroma, but their phytochemical compositions are not yet fully understood. The volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in eight new hybrid varieties from crosses between cultivars of C. x superba and C. speciosa were analysed by solid-phase micro-extraction (SPME) and GC-MS. Forty-eight VOCs were identified, with nine compounds being found in all eight varieties. Multivariate data analysis showed that esters and ketones were the main contributors to the distinct aroma of the fruit. Principal component analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis allowed the elucidation of differences and similarities among the new hybrid varieties. The results obtained showed that these new hybrid varieties of Chaenomeles had different VOC profiles, which may be valuable for industrial applications such as flavour and fragrance agents.
