摘要：森林认证出现于 2 0世纪 90年代初 ,10年来 ,森林认证在全球范围内取得了快速的发展。文中介绍了森林认证的起源和发展现状 ,指出了森林认证的发展趋势 。
Forest certification is a means of protecting forests by promoting responsible forestry practices. Forest certification provides an independent third-party assurance that a forestry operation meets standards set by a certification program.Forest certification is expanding rapidly during the past decade. In January 2002 the area of certified forest was estimated at 109 million hectares. Demand exceeds supply in some major markets(the United Kingdom,the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium) where many buyers are committed to certification.However, the potential timber supply from the world′s certified forests is large, estimated at about 234 million m 3 on an annual basis. The paper described status and trend of forest certification.The authors also put forward some suggestions on forest certification in China.
