摘要:Two groups of Canadian lodgepole pine samples, one blue-stained and the other normal, were heat treated. The color change of CIE L* a* b* values and wood properties after heat treatment were researched. Result showed that after 3 hours of treatment at 200 C. the a* and b* values of the blue-stained group increased sharply, and hardly any differences were found between the two groups by a macrography method, although the a* and b* values of samples from group one before treatment are quite low because of blue-stain. The dimensional stability values of the blue-stained normal groups were not significantly different. Blue-stain had no obvious influence on either MOR or MOE. There were significant correlations between L* values, a* values and all wood properties both in the normal and the blue-stained groups after heat treatment: especially with the EMC (p<0.0001). It is possible to calculate the wood property indexes of equilibrium moisture content, wet swelling rate, shrinkage rate and MOR, by their L* values and a* values after heat treatment both for normal and blue-stained lodgepole timber.
