摘要：Land use and land cover change is important indicator in social development. Remote sensing was applied to simulate and analyze land use changes from 2000 to 2007 in Mentougou district in Beijing, China. In the study, cropland was the biggest decline in area of land use types. It decreased 46.71 km(2). Most cropland changed into forests. Forest was the most stable land use types. The results show that Mentougou district as ecological conservation area is becoming more and more attention to the protection of forest ecosystem.
