摘要:Cunninghamia lanceolata is widely cultivated softwood in South China. To investigate the structural dynamics of its hemicellulose in the stem, hemicellulose was isolated from the apical, middle and basal part of the C. lanceolata stem using KOH and subsequently characterized by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and other technical methods. The results showed that the main hemicellulose of C. lanceolata is O-acetylgalactoglucomannan (GGM) whose backbone is formed of glucose and mannose alternately linked by β-(1→4)-glycosidic bond with galactose and acetyl side chains. Another minor type of hemicellulose identified is 4-O-methylglucuronoarabinoxylan (GAX) consisting of a linear backbone of (1→4)-β-D-Xylp with 4-O-Me-α-D-GlcpA and α-L-Araf attached as side chains. During xylogenesis, the ratio of GGM/GAX in the hemicellulose pool of the stem gradually increases. Besides, the extent of glycosyl side chain of the apical part is higher than that of lower fractions while the degree of acetylation is lower. ? 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.
