摘要:The occurrence of endemic plants is closely related to topography, and knowledge of their habitat range is essential for effective conservation. The role played by topography as a surrogate variable to explain the habitat selection of Chinese torreya was evaluated through spatial analyses using GIS. From the DEM, topographical parameters were extracted and then comparisons between topography and the distribution map of Chinese torreya derived from IKONOS imagery were made. Habitat pattern of Chinese torreya was highly correlated with topography. A logistic equation was used to represent the relationship with topographical attributes. It is concluded that topographical variables, including distance to valley line, slope and topographical wetness index are important factors influencing the habitat selection of Chinese torreya.
