摘要:Hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) is a key catalytic process for upgrading biomass derivatives into high-value biofuels and chemicals, providing a sustainable alternative to fossil fuel-based production. Among numerous catalytic systems, ruthenium (Ru)-based catalysts have attracted considerable attention due to their excellent activity, selectivity, and stability in cleaving C-O bonds under relatively mild reaction conditions. This review comprehensively summarizes the recent research progress in the application of Ru-based catalysts for the HDO of various biomass derivatives, including furans, carboxylic acids, and phenolics. We systematically discuss the influence of Ru-based catalyst design parameters (such as metal particle size, electronic state, and support properties) on the directed HDO of biomass derivatives. In addition, this review elaborates on the possible reaction mechanisms of Ru-based catalysts in the HDO process. Finally, the challenges and opportunities faced in this interesting and important research field are prospected, aiming to promote the practical application of Ru-based catalysts in sustainable biomass conversion.
