摘要：Long-term human disturbance has lead to the area reduction and functional degradation of mangroves. Therefore, mangrove reforestation has become a very urgent task in China and other countries with mangroves. Taking the Shui-dong bay as an example, this paper summarizes the implementation plan and re-lated technical measures of mangrove restoration project in China. Using the engineering measures together with biological measures, the mangrove restoration project was implemented on the tidalflat in the Shui-dong bay. Focusing on the unfavorable factor of lower tidalflat elevation, the tidalflat was raised by the ridging mode. Then under high salinity stresses, some mangrove plants with characteristics of fast-growing and strong salt tolerance were selected as main afforestation species. Moreover, other technical measures were taken in this project also, including high-density planting, seedling fixing (staking a thin bamboo pole beside each plant), young forest management etc.
