摘要:As the most abundant aromatic resource in nature, the conversion of lignin into energy and chemicals represents an efficient value-adding approach. Cerium oxide (CeO2) supported metal materials are an important class of green catalysts with excellent lignin depolymerization capability and catalyst recycling stability, among which the unique redox properties and defect structures of CeO2 play a crucial role. This paper reviews the research progress in lignin depolymerization, the distinctive properties of CeO2 and its key role in lignin depolymerization, and introduces the research advances of CeO2-based catalysts in lignin depolymerization. It focuses on elaborating the unique role of the distinctive surface sites of CeO2-based catalysts in lignin depolymerization reactions and discusses the possible reaction mechanisms. Finally, this review points out the challenges existing in the field of lignin depolymerization and puts forward some prospects for the future development of CeO2-supported metal catalysts. This review will provide valuable insights for the development of advanced green catalysts for lignin valorization and other catalytic reactions.
