摘要:The adaptive strategies of bird song frequencies in urbanized areas provide a unique system to understand the bird sounds response to urbanized conditions. Using passive acoustic monitoring and automatic bird sound recognition technology, we explored the frequency variations of six common urban bird species and their association with habitat structures. Our results demonstrated that bird song frequencies in urban environments were significantly higher than in urban outskirts and rural areas. Habitat vegetation structure and noise levels were identified as crucial factors shaping the acoustic space for urban birds. We found that increasing urbanization and low-frequency noise energy resulted in higher bird song frequencies, while higher vegetation coverage and more intricate forest structures were associated with lower frequencies. These findings offer crucial insights into the behavioral responses and adaption processes of urban birds in a variety of metropolitan habitats, with implications for urban ecosystem management and conservation. ? 2023, The Authors.
