摘要：论述了森林可持续经营认证的概念、内容、目的、特点、费用和收益、权威机构及其国际进展和前景。认证是一种市场经济手段，其目的是提高和加强合理利用森林的意识，它包括２部分，一部分适用于森林可持续经营，另一部分适用于木材产品的认证和标签。认证需要经费，包括直接费用和间接费用，但认证也有收益，这取决于认证产出的水平。认证已经在发达国家和一些发展中国家普遍开展了起来，一些很有影响的国际组织一直在推动认证的进程。但由于森林认证本身的复杂性，要实现全球的森林认证，还有很长的路要走。
Abstract The concept, contents, objectives, characteristics, costs and benefits and the authorized institutions of certification for sustainable forest management, as well as its progress and prospects at the international arena are discussed. Certification is an economic market-based instrument which aims at raising and strengthening public awareness towards a more responsible use of forests. It has two major components. One is for sustainable forest management, and the other is for product certification and labelling. Certification costs, both directly and indirectly. But it also benefits, which depends on the level of output when conducting certification. Certification has been more and more popular in many developed countries and in some developing countries, and many international organizations with strong influences have been promoting the process of certification. However, due to complicity of forest certification itself, it still has a long way to go to achieve global forest certification.
