摘要:Due to the limitations of the geographical environment and species characteristics, the majority of previous studies investigating the response of tree radial growth to climate warming were focused on the slope aspect displaying obvious differences, while the regularity of response in the case of continuous slope aspect was ignored. Similar to the timberlines, we hypothesize that the radial growth of trees on their edge slope will accelerate response to climate warming, which we denote as the "slope-aspect edge effect". In the eastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, 875 tree ring cores of Minjiang fir (Abies fargesii var. faxoniana) were collected from four continuous slope aspects (west, northwest, north, and northeast) at three altitude gradients (3,650 m, 3,800 m, and 3,950 m). The radial growth trend of Minjiang fir after warming and the sensitivity difference of the radial growth to temperature and precipitation changes before and after warming were then analyzed. Here, the radial growth of Minjiang fir increased significantly at the timberline, middle altitude on the northeast slope aspect, and low altitude on the west slope aspect (P0.05). At the same time, the accelerated radial growth of the Minjiang fir showed a strong positive correlation with temperature. In this way, the positive feedback caused by climate warming was concentrated on the timberline and the edge slope aspect of the Minjiang fir’s habitats. This study suggests that climate change may alter the suitable slope aspect and distribution range of Minjiang fir in the future, and these trends should therefore be considered in forest management and conservation practices. ? 2022, The Authors.
