摘要：Since 1998, the Chinese Government has implemented a plethora of forestry policies aimed at promoting ecological restoration, forest ecological construction, and forestry economic development. This study examined the contribution of 1231 forestry policies issued at the national level to the ecological construction and economic development of forestry in China from 1998 to 2020. The results indicate that: (1) The annual implementation of forestry policy documents continues to increase from 1998 to 2020, with a notable acceleration post-2012. (2) China's forestry policy effectiveness demonstrates a trajectory characterized by steady enhancement and then rapid progress. (3) Between 1998 and 2020, China's forestry policy has notably fostered an increase in forest resources and improved forest quality, thereby significantly advancing the forestry economy. (4) China's forestry policy has certain regional heterogeneity. Forestry policies have greatly contributed to the growth of forest resources, the improvement of forest resource quality and the development of the forestry economy in the eastern region, but have not contributed significantly to the growth of forest resources in the central and western regions. This study suggests that China's forestry development has transitioned from a focus on timber production to ecological construction, forestry policies have increasingly contributed to the incremental development of forest resources, with their overall effectiveness in expanding the forestry economy being significant. This research underscores the crucial role of the Chinese government in fostering the concurrent advancement of forest resource conservation and forestry economic development. ? 2024, The Authors.
