摘要:The sorption behaviors of Neosinocalamus affinis bamboo fiber based composites (BFC) with compression ratios of 1.50, 1.83 and 2.17 were studied, aiming to optimize the manufacturing process of BFC. The results showed that the hygroscopicity of BFC decreased compared with that of raw bamboo, but increased with increasing compression ratio when the relative humidity (RH) was above 60% owing to the increased poly-layer water content. The moisture absorption model of bamboo and BFC with different compression ratios were mainly changed by the different pore structures, chemical compositions and wettability. The compression and densification of bamboo and the introduction of phenolic formaldehyde (PF) resin into the bamboo cell lumens, pits and gaps decreased the porosity, the water absorption space of cell wall and the water transfer pathway. Meanwhile, the hygroscopic groups decreased and the BFC surface became much more hydrophobic for the BFC with higher compression ratio. ? 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.
