摘要：This chapter mainly discusses the methods of wood functionalization, including the main process, mechanisms and evaluation. The functionalization includes wood colour treatment, dimensional stabilization, strengthening, flame retardant treatment, preservative treatment and wood-metal composite material. The chapter then explains the main processes and mechanisms of pretreatments, which include mechanical, physical, chemical and biological treatment. The evaluation methods of pretreatment effects are introduced, and finally the method and effect of pretreatment are discussed in order to put forward some suggestions on the development of pretreatment technology for optimal wood functionalization. ? 2017 Elsevier Ltd All rights reserved.
