Pine Wilt Disease,a devastating forest ailment caused by the parasitic nematode Bursaphelenchus xylophilus, poses a severe threat to global pine ecosystems due to its strong infectivity, rapid mortality of infected trees, and challenging control.Conventional management approaches face limitations in effectively improving control efficiency, primarily owing to significant environmental impacts, increasing nematode resistance to pesticides, and inconsistent control outcomes. In recent years, the regulatory roles of non-coding RNAs in plant–parasitic nematode interactions have emerged as a research focus.Studies have confirmed that non-coding RNAs influence pine resistance to B.xylophilus by precisely regulating target gene expression. This review systematically summarizes research progress on non-coding RNAs in the interaction between B.xylophilus and host plants, thoroughly analyzes their specific functions and regulatory mechanisms, and comparatively examines the expression patterns and biological significance of non-coding RNAs during infections by different forest parasitic nematodes. It concludes by evaluating current advancements and limitations, while proposing future research directions based on the present landscape. The aim is to provide novel insights and theoretical foundations for eco-friendly control strategies against pine wilt disease, thereby advancing precision-targeted techniques for forest pest management.
