摘要:Drought stress induced by global warming is considered to be the main factor leading to the decline of tree growth, especially in arid and semi-arid regions, and gradually spreading to the sub-humid regions. Since 2000, the increase in precipitation induced by the strengthening of the monsoon in East and South Asia is expected to relieve the pressure on tree growth caused by climate warming and drying in the eastern Tibetan Plateau (ETP), but this hypothesis awaits further test. In ETP, we sampled 875 tree rings of Minjiang fir ( Abies fargesii var. faxoniana ) at the timberline and at sites 150 and 300 m below timberline on four slope aspects (W, NW, N, and NE) to study how climatic variation has shaped tree radial growth. Twelve composite tree-ring width (TRW) indices and 725 individual tree TRW indices of Minjiang fir were obtained by dendrochronological approaches. Our results indicated that the radial growth of Minjiang fir has experienced a significant decrease since 2000 ( P ? 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.
