摘要:Growth and wood mechanical properties are important traits for solid wood improvement in industrial tree breeding programs. In this study, efforts were made to identify microsatellite markers associated with growth and wood mechanical traits in an industrial tree species Eucalyptus cloeziana F. Muell. (family Myrtaceae). Based on a total of 839 microsatellite markers, 84 were screened out for association mapping in 9.5-year-old height (H9.5), diameter over bark at breast height (D9.5), basic density (BD9.5), green density (GD9.5), modulus of elasticity (MOE9.5), modulus of rupture (MOR9.5), and compressive strength parallel to the grain (σ(c,0)9.5). By applying the mixed linear model and the false discovery rate correction, a collective total of 13 loci were validated for significant association with traits (Q ≤ 0.05), including two loci in H9.5, three in D9.5, seven in BD9.5, and three in MOE9.5. However, no marker-trait association was found for the rest three traits GD9.5, MOR9.5, and σ(c,0)9.5. The ratio of phenotypic variance explained (R2) by a significant locus ranged from 5.3 % to 43.1 %, with an average of 20.6 %. Favorable and/or unfavorable alleles were determined from the significant markers for each trait. Ten of the 13 significant loci were functionally homologous to known genes or predicted proteins. The novel set of significant loci identified here, along with their favorable alleles, can be used for tracking causative loci or genes and for marker-assisted breeding of the related traits. ? 2020 Elsevier B.V.
